Default Interesting (crazy?) double neck

I just finished this one up. Two necks, both tuned to standard D. (standard tuning one full step down).
The client wanted to use Taylor's expression system. So the whole guitar is built pretty much around that. Very challenging to say the least but I think it worked out really well.
Specs:
Sitka/sitka double top
Double mahogany back and sides
Both 7 piece laminations on the necks.
Ebony fingerboards, bridges and headplates.

Ebony arm bevel and pinless bridges.

Steinberger tuners on the inside to prevent him from hitting the posts when he is in the first position on the upper neck.

And this shows the Capo Clips that we worked on together. The necks were specifically made to accept these little capo clips. Kind of cool if you are one of those crazy players that uses all of the 9th/13th/dimished, yada, yada chords. If you are interested, check out www.capoclips.com

Wow Paul that looks like it was a challenge to build. The Rosettes look really cool. Did you charge him double? Probably one of the few guitars in the world that isn't a Taylor with the Taylor ES system. Very cool guitar!

Paul!

Great job, great guitar and capo Clips. I'm in heaven. I've got a double neck coming but with one being Nashville tuning.

Well done. Can you retrofit CapoClips.

Great looking guitar! Anyone here have any experience with the capo clips? Obviously having to cut into your fingerboard is a little more labor intensive then having a bunch of partial capos laying around. This is the first time I've seen them so I'd be curious to here if anyone made the plunge

Oh to the above poster, yes capo clips can be fitted, the website does the work, send them your guitar

Actually, I'd likely be the guy doing the work if you sent the guitar in. I've done 6 guitars so far, all retro fits. This is the first one I've done from scratch. Both ways have their pros and cons. The advantage to doing it from scratch is that I was able to put a strip of ebony over the hook bar so that it didn't show except for the slot. I don't think that would be possible in a retro fit. (well, possible yes, but much more difficult. )
If you have a tech that is worth his salt, I'd recommend having him/her do the fit. I made an extra jig that Scott has. He will rent it out for a few bucks and you can have the job done by someone you know. Much safer than shipping the guitar.

You da' man Paul. I couldn't even dream something like that up, much less build it. What are the scale lengths?

My first thought was: you're taking us for a ride with a photoshop trick, a guitar like that can't be built!

Seriously: That is one impressive looking instrument, congratulations!

Thanks all. This was most certainly a test in the "measure twice (or three times) and cut once".
Woody: the big neck is 28.62 and the small neck is 25.05. We came up with those numbers from Taylor's standard scale and their Baby Taylor scale (25.5 and 22-3/8) with two frets added beyond the nut.

Beautiful guitar! One question though, I'd have thought the point of a double-neck with different scale-lengths was to allow 2 radically different tunings. Whats the benefit from 2 identically tuned necks?
